The Maurienne offers a multitude of activities, easily accessible from the house.
Nordic skiing or ski touring, snowshoe walks can start from the house. We can advise you different trails, depending on your expectations and level.
20min away from the house, you can go down the hills of the fabulous 3 Vallées resort (access to Val-Thorens via Orelle) or go to the smaller resort of Valloire –Valmeinier located 25min away from the house.

From the village, possibilities are unlimited towards the « Col de Beau Plan », the « Col de la Vallée Etroite » or, for the toughest, the “Grand Perron des Encombres”.
You will be going on Hannibal’s prints discovering the mountain chalets, or who knows.. an ibex.

In the summertime you can walk towards the altitude lakes, have a picnic on a torrent’s edge, go mountain-biking or go cycle-touring from the village. It is not rare to come across chamois, marmots or ibexes.
Other activities are possible in the immediate surroundings: paragliding (summer and winter), canyoning…

Fans of cycling will be fulfilled at the heart of the world largest cycling resort, on the slopes of the “Col du Télégraphe” and “Col du Galibier”, “Col de la Croix de Fer” or “Col de l’Iseran”.

Many cultural sites are within a 25km radius (museum, forts, villages, baroque chapels) and can be visited all year long.
The bravests will tackle the Via Ferrata and its shivers, in the environment of the Fort Marie Christine (air trail, giant Tyrolean traverse… at 30min from the house) and the most audacious will discover the sensations of canyoning in the “Gorges de l’Ecot”.
Saint Michel de Maurienne (8 km) has a covered swimming pool, a tennis club open to all, and a fitness trail.
Those for whom sport does not say anything, or for supporters of prolonged aperitifs, a boules pitch is at your disposal in the village as well as a polyvalent room, with table tennis and a baby-foot.
And, if you are into it, you will maybe go and find a burrow, listen to the marmot’s whistling, watch the majestic flight of an eagle, discover aromatic or medicinal herbs, like the famous genepi.
For the days with a little grey sky, there are two cinemas with recent movies in Saint Michel and St Jean de Maurienne.
When all those discoveries will have whetted your appetite, it will be time to taste the gastronomy of Savoie.
